As a cross-disciplinary artist, designer and educator with many years of practice I will be happy to use my experience and knowledge to teach, guide and inspire you to explore your artistic interests and find your own unique expression in diverse media.
My workshops and lectures are designed to fill 3 hour, 6 hour, or longer, customized blocks of time. Upon selection of a workshop you will be provided with more details and curriculum. Preferred class size is 10 for all workshops; larger class sizes or customized presentations might be arranged upon request. I will be happy to answer any questions you might have about the workshops. Following is a listing of my current workshops:
transform intangible ideas into tangible designs
Workshop is designed to engage you in an exploration of the idea of clothing as a form of artistic expression. It starts with a lecture as a source of stimulation for the development of ideas for unique wearable designs. During design process you will be guided through the experience of creating al unique garment using a variety of materials and techniques. This workshop involves lots of exploration and adventure.
collagraph workshop
Collagraphs can be printed as intaglio prints, relief prints or both intaglio and relief. In collagraph workshop you will learn how to create prints from plates made from a collage of different textured materials. You will experiment with different textural materials, learn how to build-up surfaces to create varying textural and tonal effects; as you work you will learn the difference between various inking and non-inking techniques.
tradigital printmaking workshop
This experimental workshop will explore non-traditional techniques of printing. You will learn how to combine traditional and digital methods of printing on the same sheet of paper. I will demonstrate and share tips on: preparing surfaces, printing, sealing and varnishing.
construction of roman inscriptional capitals
Roman Inscriptional Capitals workshop accommodates experienced artists and beginners alike, so prior art experience is not required. You will earn the history and importance of roman inscriptional capitals before joining a hands-on demonstration of basic techniques of construction of Roman Inscriptional Capital letterforms.
